Damanze Ikedinobu is a wealthy citizen of Idu; he inherited his parents' wealth and has many lands at his disposal. He is not shy to display his wealth to the public. Damanze Ikedinobu's troubles begin when the village drunk informs him that the Prince is bedding his wife, leading him to challenge the Prince to a duel, but the King steps in and pleads with him. Ultimately, he mistakenly kills the Prince when he finds his wife in his house.
