As the people of Oto Egba prepared for the grand Agbakara contest, Serome was ready to call it a night after Odiri's visit. But just as sleep beckoned, danger lurked in the shadows. A masked intruder slipped into her chambers, whisking her away to an unknown destination.
Who took Serome?
Unaware of the danger, Akpevwe arrived with Serome's dinner only to find an empty room—and a mask lying on the floor. Her terrified screams alerted Ogheneovo, the Ovie, and the Okakuro. Concerned but cautious due to their esteemed guests from the Benin Kingdom, the Ovie discreetly ordered his guards to begin a search.
Ogaga to the rescue
Deep in the forest, Ogaga, fresh from his meeting with the Erivwin, stumbled upon a man carrying Serome. Without hesitation, he sprang into action, engaging in a fierce battle and ultimately rescuing her. Moments later, Ogheneovo and his men arrived, grateful for Ogaga's bravery. Together, they escorted Serome back to Oto Egba to recount the night's harrowing events before the Ovie.
Back in Oto Egba, Ogaga was stunned to find his best friend, Ochuko, being reprimanded by the King. Rumors had swirled that Ogaga was behind the kidnapping, and with his absence, suspicion fell on Ochuko. But with Serome as his witness, Ogaga cleared his name. The Ovie, recognising his heroism, expressed his gratitude.
As Serome returned to her chambers, her mind was consumed by thoughts of her rescuer. She couldn't stop gushing about him and the events of the night to Odiri. Serome also expressed that she hoped to see Ogaga again. To help her friend out, Odiri devised a plan that might bring them together again.
