Twenty-four housemates walked into Biggie's house with one instruction ringing in their ears: "Show Ya Sef," and by the end of Day four, they'd already racked up enough firsts to fully embody the season's theme.
Week one's theme: "Allow me to introduce myself"
Before anyone could think about strategy, alliances, or shading each other, Biggie set the tone. Week one's theme, "Allow Me To Introduce Myself," was a simple but pointed instruction: get to know each other, and let the world get to know you too. No hiding, no holding back — just housemates showing up as themselves, for better or worse. Turns out, they took the brief seriously.
Biggie's first twist: The Gambit
On day one, Biggie was already showing he's got tricks up his sleeve, and then came the birth of the twist known as The Gambit — a brand-new gameplay element that means not every housemate is playing for the ₦160 million grand prize. One male and one female housemate, chosen by public vote, will take on the Gambit role: guaranteed safety in the house until the finale, but no shot at the money. Housemates were informed about the twist right after the season's first nominations, leaving them shocked as most were still grappling with being nominated.
Chimsom Chuka's double win: First HoH and first Arena Games winner
The housemates went head-to-head in the season's first Head of House challenge, and it was Chimsom Chuka who came out fastest in the men's round, earning him the coveted spot as the season's first-ever HoH. Abi topped the women's round and became his Deputy.
But winning the HoH title came with a twist of its own — for the first time in Big Brother Naija history, the HoH didn't automatically get the HoH lounge. Instead, Chimsom Chuka had to draw a name from a lucky dip box, and the name he pulled, Tram, got to decide who joined him in luxury. Tram picked Sheba, leaving Chimsom Chuka with the title and the immunity, but watching someone else enjoy the perks.
Luck still shone on Chimsom Chuka ; he finished all four rounds of games in the fastest time at the Friday night Arena Games, making him the season's first double winner. Sultex was first runner-up.
The first birthday: Martins turns up in style
Day two brought the house's first birthday celebration, thrown in honour of Martins. Housemates went all out with a games night and lounge party, but it was Mercedes who stole the show — describing herself as an "aerial seduction artist," she gave the birthday boy a performance nobody saw coming. Between prayers, tributes and happy tears, Martins closed the night calling it one of the best birthdays he's ever had.
Team Nature secures the first wager win
By Day four, it was wager task presentation time. The men (Team Nature) and women (Team Nurture) went head-to-head in the season's first Wager, complete with presentations, rebuttals, and closing arguments in the Arena. When Biggie handed down his verdict, Team Nature came out on top, earning them their first taste of a Wager win and a pool party to celebrate right after.
The first kiss and unofficial ship
Amid all the Wager prep, romance found its way into the house. Goddessa and Araga shared the season's first kiss, but by evening, cracks were already showing. A conversation in the lounge saw Goddessa pushing back on the idea of being tied down to one person's constant attention, leaving fans to wonder if this is a real connection or a ship that's already tanking.
The first bit of friction: Abi vs Neche
Week one in Biggie's house wasn't all good vibes. By day one, a fight had already kicked off between Neche and Abi over their Wager task, with Team Nurture struggling with preparations all through the week. Chimsom's leadership style also stirred tension in the house, especially after he warned housemates that disobeying the HoH's directives would come with consequences — a comment that didn't sit well with everyone and got tempers flaring.
Seven days in, and the Show Ya Sef housemates are proving they're here to live out the season's theme in full bloom — it's a promise!
