After weeks of shifting connections, emotional conversations, and unexpected twists, the journey toward finding lasting romance has reached a major turning point. The original pairings that kicked off the season were officially dissolved, allowing each single to reassess their connections and choose the partners they truly saw potential with.
Each was asked to select a first and second choice for the person they would like to be locked in with for the remainder of the season. What followed was a tense process that ultimately determined the final couples moving forward. Let's see how that played out.
Love at first choice
Several connections proved strong enough to survive the reshuffle. When the selections were revealed, four couples had chosen each other as their first choice, securing their place immediately:
- Latifa and Ken
- Chidera and Kena
- Ceeoni and Alvin
- Toria and Victory
These pairs entered the next stage of the season confident that their feelings were mutual, cementing their status as official couples.
The Igwe and Shekinah twist
Well... Not every connection was so straightforward.
One of the most talked-about dynamics in the house has been the relationship between Igwe and Shekinah. Igwe initially entered the season paired with Toria before later exploring a connection with Shekinah. Their bond appeared to grow quickly, with viewers watching Igwe transform from the house’s perceived “bad boy” into what many described as a loverboy.
However, things took a complicated turn during the partner selection process.
While Igwe chose Shekinah as his first option, he named Latifa as his second choice, explaining that he found her physically attractive and that she had previously seemed available during a rough patch in her relationship with Ken. When Shekinah learned about this choice and the reasoning behind it, she was visibly upset. Feeling unsettled, she chose not to list Igwe as her first choice, creating a mismatch that threatened to dissolve their pairing.
Her reaction also appeared to stem from an earlier moment in the season when Igwe and Latifa had briefly discussed the possibility of exploring a connection. Some viewers felt Shekinah’s concerns were valid, while others believed she was reading too much into the situation. The tension also sparked debate among viewers because Shekinah herself had explored a connection with Alvin earlier in the season, even listing him among her choices.
With emotions running high and uncertainty in the air, Igwe had to work to reassure her that she remained his true first choice.
The turning point came when it was revealed that anyone left uncoupled would be leaving the show. Faced with the possibility of separation, the pair sat down to talk things through. When the housemates were asked to make their selections again, Igwe and Shekinah ultimately chose each other, securing their place as the fifth couple.
A decision that changed everything
The final spot came down to a single decision - Hilda's.
With all other couples formed, Hilda became the deciding factor as the only woman left without a confirmed partner. The man she chose would form the sixth and final couple, while the man not selected would be eliminated from the show.
Before this BIG decision, Hilda had developed connections with Bosah and Henry, leaving her with a difficult choice.
In the end, she chose Bosah, officially locking them in as the season's sixth couple. The decision meant that Henry’s journey in the house came to an end, marking one of the most emotional exits so far.
The final couples
With that decision made, the season’s final couples are:
Latifa and Ken
Chidera and Kena
Ceeoni and Alvin
Toria and Victory
Shekinah and Igwe
Hilda and Bosah
With the final couples now confirmed, the focus shifts to how these relationships will develop under pressure. But the lingering tensions between friendships and romantic connections could still shake things up. Which couple are you rooting for?
